The Beginning
Decades of Fun in the Heart of Amish Country
From the beginning, Cabin Creek Golf has been a family affair. Nestled just three miles south of Sugarcreek on State Route 93, the family entertainment center has been a beloved destination for both Amish Country guests and locals for decades.
Founded by Robert and Lois Schlabach, the idea for Cabin Creek began in 1991 with a simple goal: to create a place on their family farm where people of all ages could come together for some healthy competition, outdoor activity, and mostly: fun. After visiting countless miniature golf courses without finding the inspiration they were looking for, Robert and Lois took matters into their own hands and designed two unique 18-hole courses from scratch. With challenging obstacles, running streams, and even a tee-off, each course offers a chance to put your mini-golf skills to the test.
The Fun Keeps Growing
Just one year later in 1992, plans for the driving range were starting to take shape and by 1995, the fun expanded with batting cages, two sand volleyball courts, a playground, and a gazebo — which now hosts countless birthday parties, family reunions, community gatherings, company outings, and more each year.
Later, the golf courses and driving range were equipped with lighting to ensure the fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down. A self-service token machine was also added to the driving range to allow for off-hours play during the cooler months. In addition to mini golf, batting cages, sand volleyball, and a driving range, a pair of shuffleboard courts were later added to round out the 10-acre family fun destination.

Today, Cabin Creek Golf remains family and community-oriented on all fronts. As a family-owned and operated business geared toward families and communities, it’s more than just a mini-golf course.
