How Cabin Creek Golf got started in Ohio's Amish Country...

Fun mini golf course details

"Cabin Creek Golf is a family oriented business," says Robert Schlabach, "We put a lot of thought into it before it became a reality." Robert and Lois traveled to various courses but didn't find anything eye-catching to pattern their course after. So, they decided to venture into an unknown territory and design their own course. Their goal was to design a course on their home farm that would be challenging but at the same time fun. As plans began to form, the entire family became very supportive as their four children; Colleen, Nolan, Regan, and Karina all had input on building the course.

One of their goals was to have a place for families to have good clean fun. They want to be an asset to the community. By making the driving range and the putting green available, they might just develop a talent in someone otherwise left unnoticed.

Cabin Creek Golf is a miniature golf course with two unique 18 hole courses to choose from, each with pars of 70. The courses are well equipped with difficult obstacles, a geyser and running streams, and even holes where you have to put some muscle into it and tee off. They also have a driving range, which was built in 1992. In 1995, two sand volleyball courts, a playground, and a gazebo were added. These attractions are very popular among the youth groups, reunions, church and family picnics, and many other group activities.

Lois manages the office and they have about 6-8 employees. She also loves to landscape, making everything look picture perfect. Of course, if anything breaks down, Robert gets the call to make the repairs.

In late fall and winter, the driving range has a token machine and ball dispenser for self-service even when the office is closed. Additional attractions are under consideration for the future. Cabin Creek Golf is a good, clean, and wholesome family entertainment center that is challenging and interesting. All attractions are fully lighted for your evening enjoyment. Come out to the peaceful and quiet country and give it a try. They hope to have something everyone can enjoy. Cabin Creek Golf is located just three miles south of Sugarcreek on State Route 93.
